DM theme nite of our own

Ok, here is what i have been thinking about.

Organize our own DM nite.

Location:

-- party room in someone's condo
-- book a small bar somewhere or a comunity centre (my friend booked chinese community centre for her b-day, got a liquer licence for the nite, I was DJ-ing)
-- someone's house party room


Liquer:

-- byob or
-- get a liquer licence and sell beers and basic coctails, need at least 4-5 ppl to organize
-- we can also get some pizza or what not

music:

- renting a system for the nite is not all that expensive, 100$ plus a laptop, i have done it b4re

cost:

-- renting a venue btween 5-800$

Now, interested?

i'd be interested.
condo party room / house + byob sounds best.
i would host if my place wasn't so wee.
i'm not sure we'd get enough people to rent a venue and be cost effective.

well, the condo where i thought to do it is rented out now so logistically it woudl be a bit of a problem and i got no replies so i gather ppl not all that interested. however, at some point in 2009 when one of my other condos will be ready i may just do it for myself and close friends. will notify dm group and we'll see.

I like that idea.

I would be happy to host a DM party at my place if there a demand. If there is a huge demand and we need a condo's facilities we can explore it. Perhaps the group's organizer could run a poll and see what the interest would be.
